There's a lot going on right now. Inflation is rising, there's global-political uncertainty, all with a post (we hope) pandemic backdrop.
The Construction Industry continues to experience strong spending and increasing employment, albeit with increasing construction material costs. All of these changes are reverberating through the built environment and impacting costs, schedules, and labor.
So how do you manage business and real estate during these unique times?
VERTEX works with developers, architects, insurers, investors, REITs and attorneys involved in property or real estate. Those succeeding have learned to embrace 'change' as the only constant.
Constant change leads to constant learning and constant learning leads to empathic skills. Alice Miller, a Swiss Psychologist once said, "Learning is a result of listening, which in turn leads to even better listening and attentiveness...In other words, to learn...we must have empathy, and empathy grows as we learn."
Check out this article in Contractor News & Views titled, The Essential Place of Empathy in Construction Disputes (pg. 28-30), written by VERTEX's Ted Bumgardner. Ted shares an essential ingredient in serving as an expert, in running any business, and certainly in times like these.
